This year's large-fold Galaxy Z Fold7 has become thinner in appearance, and the grip feel is closer to the style of an upright mobile phone when folded.

Hardware upgrade

But how thin is the Galaxy Z Fold7? According to official data, the thickness of the Galaxy S25 Ultra launched earlier this year is 8.2mm, while the overall thickness of the Galaxy Z Fold7 is only 8.9mm when folded, and it is only 4.2mm when the internal screen is opened, which is 48% lower than that of the first-generation Fold model and 26% lower than that of the previous generation.

In terms of weight, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is 218 grams, and the Galaxy Z Fold7 has only 215 grams, which is said to be lighter than a cup of 8oz coffee. The Galaxy Z Fold7 weighs 61 grams less than the original product and 24 grams less than the previous generation.

The body frame of this machine uses Advanced Armor Aluminum, which is 10% higher than the previous generation. The display screen uses Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 ceramic glass, and the inner screen UTG ultra-thin foldable glass is thickened by 50% thickness, and upgrades to the new axle structure Armor FlexHinge, providing stronger protection in ultra-thin design, with durability of 200,000 times as thick as the previous generation.

In order to give users a more refined screen experience, the internal screen of the Galaxy Z Fold7 this time is an 8-inch full version of the screen, and the size is 11% larger than the previous generation. As for the width of the cover screen, it has also been upgraded from the previous generation 59.9mm to 64.9mm; and the cover screen has been upgraded from the previous generation 6.3 inch to the 6.5-inch full version screen.

Galaxy Z Flip7

The Flip series has always been a good heart for female users in the past, because it can be put into a bag as long as it is folded up, and the official even calls the Galaxy Z Flip7 "Pocket AI Teammate".

This time, the Galaxy Z Flip7 cover screen has been increased from 3.4 inches to 4.1 inches, and has changed from the previous folder shape to a full-version screen, with the edge frame narrowing by 70%, only 1.25mm. And upgrade the 120Hz screen update rate, making the operating experience more smooth.

The thickness of the Galaxy Z Flip7 expands the machine body to 6.5mm, the folding thickness is 13.7mm, and the weight is 188 grams. The bearing is similar to the new Armor FlexHinge technology, so the thickness can be nearly 30% thinner than the previous generation, and it also provides IP48 dustproof and waterproof; and the official also emphasizes this time that this model is "waterproof for all circuit boards", called Galaxy Z Flip7 The circuit board is the most complex in Samsung's history.
