Regarding the US's introduction of the US chip production capacity statement, Zheng Lijun reiterated today that Taiwan has never promised it, and this is different from the supply chain cooperation plan discussed in the past, and it will not answer this condition in the future.
Zheng Lijun explained that the so-called semiconductor proportion calculation is quite complex. It depends on whether the numerator of the calculation project is different from the denominator. The numerator includes advanced processes, advanced addition mature processes, and denominator also has pure crystalline foundry, or pure crystalline foundry, integrated component manufacturer (IDM).
She said that different combinations calculate different results. Judging from 2024, Taiwan's production value for pure crystal circle foundry and the first-level production process below 5 nanometers will be more than 90%. However, if advanced and mature processes are used, the production value of pure crystal circle foundry is 56%.
Zheng Lijun said that if the denominator is changed to IDM and pure crystalline foundry, the advanced maturity process will account for 27%. The proportion of semiconductor process is calculated in complex, so both parties will not discuss this way.
Regarding whether Taiwan Electricity will participate in the Taiwan-US negotiation process, Zheng Lijun clearly responded, "I can tell everyone very clearly, no."
