Colombian media Win Sport released an exclusive interview video yesterday. Liverpool striker Louis Dias was interviewed during the event and talked about his feelings about learning about his teammate Jota's death.
Dias said: "It is obvious that it is unacceptable to know such information, isn't it? The first thing I did when I woke up was to read the news, and to be honest, what happened made me sad.
"We were all caught off guard, and I don't think anyone would be mentally prepared for such news. As my teammate, he played a crucial role in gaining a foothold in Liverpool, he and his family welcomed me, and we became great friends.
"We have good and healthy competition, he is very important to the team, we always reach a consensus on many things. I just want to wish his family, his wife and children strong. They must have suffered a lot of pain because of this terrible news.
"It's really very, very sad, and it's hard for me to wake up and see this news. To be honest, I cried at that time, it was really, really painful.
"I still remember that he had acted very, very kindly to me, and I will always remember this, just like I wrote in my post on social media. I hope he rests in peace, and I will always regard him as a good friend in my heart."
