givemesport reported that Tottenham is interested in introducing Bologna defender Lukumi to replace Romero, who may leave the team.

Spurs reportedly fired head coach Post Koglu after a poor performance in 2024/25 and appointed Thomas Frank as the new head coach. Now, Tottenham hopes to strengthen the team's lineup and see Colombia international Lukumi as a goal to strengthen the defense.

Vice Captain Romero may leave the team this summer. He has received strong attention from Atletico Madrid and said he dreams of playing in La Liga. So, Tottenham began looking for a potential replacement, and Bologna's Lukumi became one of their preferred targets. However, Tottenham will face competition from Premier League rivals Wolves and Brighton, two teams already negotiated with Bologna over the 26-year-old South American player.

Lukumi's performance in Italy is known as "phenomenon level", and he is an aggressive defender with excellent physical fitness. If he joins Tottenham, he will likely partner with Van Devin to the central defender. In addition, Frank can also choose Kevin Densor and Ben Davis as central defenders, and Archie Gray occasionally played this position in the 2024/25 season. However, Lukumi has extensive experience and his joining will undoubtedly be welcomed by Tottenham.
