Why do puppies like to tear paper? The master should pay attention

I don’t know if pet owners have noticed that dogs like to tear paper-like things when they encounter them. So why? It may be these three reasons, the owner can pay attention to it.

1. In the teeth-changing period

Under normal circumstances, dogs begin to change teeth around 3-7 months old. During the tooth-changing process, the dog's gums will become itchy, and they like to bite things randomly to relieve the discomfort, so they will bite paper. If this is the case, it is recommended that the owner give the dog some chew toys or molar sticks to help the dog grind its teeth. At the same time, attention should also be paid to calcium supplementation for dogs. Calcium deficiency may cause old teeth to fall out in time, resulting in unsightly double rows of teeth and an unpleasant odor.

2. Lack of trace elements

If the puppy eats tissue paper while tearing the paper, it is likely to be pica caused by the lack of trace elements in the body. In addition to tissue paper, the dog may also eat walls, nails, soil, feces, etc. If this happens, the owner must stop the dog in time, otherwise eating indiscriminately can easily cause gastrointestinal discomfort, and the owner must promptly supplement the dog with trace elements and other nutrients. You must also prepare a balanced diet for your dog at ordinary times, and the staple food is best based on dog food.

3. Boredom

Puppies are inherently energetic. In addition, they stay at home alone for a long time without anyone to play with them. If they feel too bored, they will treat toilet paper as a toy and tear it up everywhere in the house. For this situation, the owner must stop it as soon as possible. At the same time, he must guide and train the dog to develop good living habits in life, so that he will not bite the toilet paper. He should also put the toilet paper away and prepare more toys for the dog to play with.
