Recently, a large number of tourists who had previously won the lottery came to Ueno Zoo to say goodbye to "Xiangxiang".

The garden party said that although it is very reluctant, I hope that "Xiangxiang" can adapt to the environment as soon as possible, find a partner and give birth to offspring.

It is understood that "Xiangxiang" is a female giant panda born in Ueno Zoo in Japan on June 12, 2017. It is the daughter of a male giant panda Bili (Japanese name "Lili") and a female giant panda fairy (Japanese name "Zhenzhen") who went to Japan in 2011.

initially stipulated that "return it when it reaches 24 months", but many people hope that "Xiangxiang" will stay in Japan, so they decided to return it to China by the end of 2020. Later, due to the impact of the epidemic, the return period was postponed several times.

On November 18, 2022, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government of Japan announced that due to the impact of the epidemic, the time for the giant panda "Xiangxiang" to return China was postponed from the original December 31, 2022 to mid-February to early March 2023.

This is the fifth time that the return of "Xiangxiang" has been postponed.

data show that giant panda belongs to the family Bear family, known as "living fossils" and "Chinese national treasure". It has survived on the earth for at least 8 million years and is a species endemic to China.
