Dogs can be divided into sizes, including large dogs, medium dogs and small dogs. Although they belong to the same species, there are great differences in feeding. If they are not particular, it will affect the health of the dog. Therefore, you must choose the dog food that suits it according to its size.

Different choices of dog food

Dogs of different body types have different nutritional needs, so the choices of dog food should also be differentiated. Many pet owners do not pay attention to when choosing dog food. Large dogs eat small dog food, or small dogs eat large dog food.

Little do you know that different dog foods have different nutritional ingredients and are for dogs of different sizes. If you choose dog food that is not suitable for dogs, it will affect the development of the dog. Only suitable dog food is beneficial to the development of dogs.

1. Large dogs choose dog food with high calcium content. Large dogs have larger bones, so it is more important to maintain the health of large dog bones and joints. Minerals, calcium, and easily absorbed and digested animal proteins are important factors they need. Dog food should be high in calcium and high in protein.

But it should be noted that if dog food is already high in calcium dog food, there is no need to supplement additional calcium. Excessive calcium will also affect the dog's bone development.

2. Medium-sized dog food is determined based on the amount of exercise

Medium-sized dogs are dogs with a large number of breeders. When choosing dog food, medium-sized dogs should be judged based on the dog's activity. If the dog exercises more, the nutritional needs will be greater. Energy and protein are the nutrients they need.

3. Choose high-protein dog food. Small dogs grow faster during puppies, usually more than twice that of large dogs, so they need to be replenished with enough energy at this stage. Dog food should be selected with high animal protein. In addition, because small dogs have smaller teeth, it is best to choose small particles for dog food pellets, which are suitable for their teeth.

Note: Harder-textured dog food is beneficial to the oral health of dogs, can prevent oral diseases such as bad breath and periodontitis, and can also relieve discomfort during teething.
